President Bush proclaims Friday, September 14, 2001, as a National Day of Prayer
and Remembrance for the Victims of the Terrorist Attacks. He asks that the people
of the United States and places of worship mark this National Day of Prayer and
Remembrance with noontime memorial services, the ringing of bells at that hour
and evening candlelight remembrance vigils.

National Day of Prayer and Remembrance for the Victims Of the Terrorist Attacks on September 11, 2001

By the President of the United States of America

A Proclamation
On Tuesday morning, September 11, 2001, terrorists attacked America in a series of despicable acts of war. They hijacked four passenger jets, crashed two of them into the World Trade Center's twin towers, a third into the Headquarters of the U.S. Department of Defense at the Pentagon, causing great loss of life and tremendous damage. The fourth plane crashed in the Pennsylvania countryside, killing all on board but falling well short of its intended target apparently because of the heroic efforts of passengers on board.

This carnage, which caused the collapse of both Trade Center towers and the destruction of part of the Pentagon, killed more than 250 airplane passengers and thousands more on the ground.

Civilized people around the world denounce the evildoers who devised and executed these terrible attacks. Justice demands that those who helped or harbored the terrorists be punished -- and punished severely. The enormity of their evil demands it. We will use all the resources of the United States and our cooperating friends and allies to pursue those responsible for this evil, until justice is done.

We mourn with those who have suffered great and disastrous loss. All our hearts have been seared by the sudden and sense-less taking of innocent lives. We pray for healing and for the strength to serve and encourage one another in hope and faith.

Scripture says: "Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted." I call on every American family and the family of America to observe a National Day of Prayer and Remembrance, honoring the memory of the thousands of victims of these brutal attacks and comforting those who lost loved ones. We will persevere through this national tragedy and personal loss. In time, we will find healing and recovery; and, in the face of all this evil, we remain strong and united, "one Nation under God."

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GEORGE W. BUSH, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim Friday, September 14, 2001, as a National Day of Prayer and Remembrance for the Victims of the Terrorist Attacks on September 11, 2001. I ask that the people of the United States and places of worship mark this National Day of Prayer and Remembrance with noontime memorial services, the ringing of bells at that hour, and evening candlelight remembrance vigils. I encourage employers to permit their workers time off during the lunch hour to attend the noontime services to pray for our land. I invite the people of the world who share our grief to join us in these solemn observances.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this thirteenth day of September, in the year of our Lord two thousand one, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and twenty-sixth.

Friday is U.S. Color day.

Wear Red, white and blue in honor of our fellow Americans that died. The goal is to get the whole nation to participate in memory of all those who perished - the passengers and the pilots on the United and American flights, the workers in the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, and all the innocent bystanders. Our prayers go out to the friends and families of the deceased.

The news these days is awash with stories of the ever-more comprehensive
measures the Federal nanny state is taking to ensure that we are being protected
from all manner of real and imagined threats to our livelihoods and security. And
yet these "protections" are coming with a prohibitively high price. . . .

Who's the Victor in the Stem Cell Debate?

There are two bills currently before the U.S.House.
Weldon-Stupak's H.R. 2505 which would prohibit the use of cloning
to create any human beings including human embryos.

Greenwood's H.R. 2172 which claims that it would 'ban the cloning of
human beings,' but excludes human embryos from the class of 'human beings.'

Go to: THOMAS and type in H.R.2505 and H.R. 2172
to read the current versions of both bills.

The farmers paid for their water decades ago, and what passes for "world environmentalism"
-- a tool of the United Nations Agenda to take private land out of the hands of U.S. citizens
and property owners -- is trying to starve them out by drought.

The UN and property rights
By Henry Lamb
Editor's note: This article first appeared in eco-logic in January, 1997. Read it carefully to see
that many of the land use and private property issues that we are currently fighting have their
origins with the United Nations in the policies adopted at HABITAT I in 1976.

U.N.'s Real Gun Agenda Emerges
by Lawrence Auster - NewsMax.com - Wednesday, July 11, 2001
The official name of the meeting taking place at the U.N. General Assembly this week and next is the
"United Nations Conference on the Illicit Trade in Small Arms and Light Weapons in All Its Aspects." . . . .

U.N. Summit for Worldwide Gun Control Begins
by Robert Villa for NewsMax.com - Monday, July 9, 2001
Bogotá, Colombia The United Nations this past week has been disavowing claims by critics that the
upcoming U.N. Summit on Small Arms is the first step in an effort at worldwide registration and arms control,
but news from here in Colombia would seem to indicate otherwise.

U.N. Approves Anti-gun Treaty
CNSNews.com - Saturday, June 2, 2001
The United Nations General Assembly has approved a gun control treaty that calls on all nations "to prevent,
combat and eradicate the illicit manufacturing of and trafficking in firearms, their parts and components,
and ammunition."

United Nations: A Study In Supreme Arrogance

Who can be so arrogant as to imagine - no believe - that they should and could control the whole world, making
serfs of citizens and dominating peoples and cultures to fit a model developed in the minds of a few elite?

The UN Isn't Telling the Truth
by Brad Edmonds
An interesting news item tells of the UN's response to protests against their big gun-burning party and
conference beginning July 9. "The United Nations is investigating whether irate letters and e-mails constitutes
a security threat." "The gun-rights enthusiasts did not threaten physical harm to any UN official but
their protests were strongly worded and were turned over to UN security experts." The UN at first feared a
"widespread campaign," though there were only 100 messages when the news item was written.

There's a lot in common between the United Nations and soil erosion. Both operate incrementally. A
couple of tons of soil washed away here, another assault on America's Constitution there. Over time, both
lead to disaster.

If you've been paying attention, you remember that on September 6, 2000, the U.N. gathered world
leaders together in New York City for its Millennium Assembly to give the U.N. oversight of international
conflicts. They gave the U.N. power to be judge and jury over violators of international law. They gave
the U.N. oversight of financial institutions, commerce, trade relations, education and private
property. Existing national, state and local governments are to remain as conduits to locally carry
out U.N. policy. Officials in our American government approved and aided this U.N. attempt to
replace our Constitution with the United Nations Charter.

URGENT! Petition:
Let the Irrigation Water Flow in the Klamath Basin of Oregon

By: Phil Brennan
"...no man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main.
If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well
as if a manor of thy friend's or of thine own were: any man's death diminishes me, for I
am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee."

John Donne (1572-1631)

That bell is tolling for your fellow Americans in Klamath Falls, Oregon ... just as one day soon it
will toll for you. And it's not joyful sounds of the Liberty Bell you'll hear, but the mournful clangs
of a funerary bell tolling the death of your cherished freedoms.

The problem: Homosexual activism in public schools is recruiting our kids into the "gay" movement.

Recent laws signed by Governor Davis have granted homosexual political activists unprecedented
power within California's public school system.  Due to the extreme urgency of this problem,
ATM has developed a plan of action to eject the "gay" movement from California schools
and will be concentrating as much time and energy on this project as possible.

The Solution: Promote effective pro-family activism among parents and students.

Partial-birth abortion is nothing less than a national outrage, and should be banned at the federal level.
The virtual torture-murder of babies, often for the sake of filling body-parts orders, is an offense
to humankind and should never be allowed in our beloved country. We urge you to apply the fullest
extent of your influence to ensure speedy passage of a partial-birth abortion ban by Congress.
